I had the first verse and chorus for this song for quite a while. in 2012 I had the opportunity to go to Nashville and co-write with 4 Nashville songwriters. Dan Demay, who has had a long and successful songwriting career worked with me on this one. This recording was made on his laptop with both of us playing acoustic guitars and me singing the song.
Life's Too Short
VERSE 1:
An old friend of mine came to me last week
said I've got a way to make money so sweet
All you've got to do is tell a little white lie
I said hold on now it's time to say goodbye
CHORUS:
Life's too short and forever's too long
for me to go doing what God said was wrong
When old Satan tries to lead me astray
I just resist him, and he goes away
I don't know what other folks do
but I've got a word of advice for you
If you're not sure if it's right or wrong
remember Life's too short and forever's too long
Verse 2:
Just the other day walking down the street
A pretty little thing and our eyes did meet
She gave a little wink and said come with me
So, I showed her my golden ring
CHORUS:
Life's too short and forever's too long
for me to go doing what God said was wrong
When old Satan tries to lead me astray
I just resist him, and he goes away
I don't know what other folks do
but I've got a word of advice for you
If you're not sure if it's right or wrong
remember Life's too short and forever's too long
BRIDGE:
It may be naughty, and it might be nice
But I’m not willing to pay that price
CHORUS:
Life's too short and forever's too long
for me to go doing what God said was wrong
When old Satan tries to lead me astray
I just resist him, and he goes away
I don't know what other folks do
but I've got a word of advice for you
If you're not sure if it's right or wrong
remember Life's too short and forever's too long
If you're not sure if it's right or wrong
remember Life's too short and forever's too long
