Gail (My Father's Promised Land)

VERSE 1:

She lived a life that most of us would dread.

She didn't complain, never lowered her head.

She tried for years just to lead a normal life.

She finally gave in, she had to give up the fight.

And though it's hard to see her go this way,

if Gail were here I know that she would say...

CHORUS 1:

I'm livin' now with Jesus and I'm running the streets of gold.

And beside the crystal river I have a mansion of my own.

I'm singin' with the angels and holding Jesus' nail scarred hand.

And one day you'll be with me in my Father's promised land.

VERSE 2:

A childhood disease made it hard for her to breath.

She had to rely on the doctor's machines.

She loved to gather with friends and family.

Yes, Gail made a difference in the people she'd meet.

And though it's sad to think of her as gone.

The love she shared it just keeps livin' on.

CHORUS 2:

She's livin' now with Jesus and she's running the streets of gold.

And beside the crystal river she has a mansion of her own.

She's singin' with the angels and holding Jesus' nail scarred hand.

And one day we'll be with her in our Father's promised land.

Yes, we'll all live forever in our Father's promised land.
