Modern Day Pirate on the Tennessee River

Verse 1:

Tales of adventure from faraway places living the life I love most

Pretty young girls with their pretty young faces sometimes I feel like a ghost

When I was young boy I used to play pirate, plastic patch on my eye

I sailed the high seas in my backyard under the 'Bama sky

CHORUS 1:

I’m a Modern day pirate on the Tennessee River slowly floating down stream

A girl in each port, any port in a storm life is but a dream

I’m a Modern day pirate on the Tennessee River

Verse 2:

Maritime stories of pillage and plunder and a life on the sea

Hurricanes, typhoons, lightning and thunder I hear them calling me

Searching the schoolyard for buried treasure a wooden sword at my side

Jolly Roger flying high for good measure while on my bike I'd ride

CHORUS 2:

I’m a Modern day pirate on the Tennessee River slowly floating down stream

A girl in each port, any port in a storm life is but a dream

I’m a Modern day pirate on the Tennessee River

SOLO: Verse Pattern

BRIDGE:

Now that I've traveled all over the world and seen things I can't comprehend

I wouldn't change one thing I’d live it all again

CHORUS 3:

I’m a Modern day pirate on the Tennessee River slowly floating down stream

A girl in each port, any port in a storm life is but a dream

I’m a Modern day pirate on the Tennessee River

Now that I've traveled all over the world and done things you won't understand

I wouldn't change one thing I’d live it all again

I’m a Modern day pirate on the Tennessee River
