Kid Who Got Caught Stealing Shoes

Verse 1:

Three walls and a window and steel bars for the door

I get to watch TV three nights a week I wash dirty shirts the other four

I lie awake every evening in the quiet dark I pray

That they free me from this prison soon I don't think I can take another day

Chorus:

I don't hear no jailhouse rockin' in here

No Folsom prison blues

I only hear the sound of the heartbeat

of a kid who got caught stealing shoes

I end each night like the one before lying in my bed I cry

Verse 2:

I've been inside for three long years got two more until parole

In the back of my mind at the top of my fears I know they'll never let me go

So I live each slowly passing day knowing my dreams have died

Chorus:

I don't hear no jailhouse rockin' in here

No Folsom prison blues

I only hear the sound of the heartbeat

of a kid who got caught stealing shoes

I end each night like the one before lying in my bed I cry

Instrumental Break

Chorus:

I don't hear no jailhouse rockin' in here

No Folsom prison blues

I only hear the sound of the heartbeat

of a kid who got caught stealing shoes

I end each night like the one before lying in my bed I cry

I don't hear no jailhouse rockin' in here

No Folsom prison blues

I only hear the sound of the heartbeat

of a kid who got caught stealing shoes

I end each night like the one before lying in my bed I cry
