His Only Thought Was You

Verse 1:

Battered and bruised, falsely accused He never said a word.

As they hammered those nails in His hands and His feet the only sound He heard

was the sound of people crying fearful for their souls

He could have thought of Himself and called out for help but

His only thought was you.

Chorus:

He could have come down from the cross,

summoned the angels from above.

He could have cried out "I've done no wrong"

instead He had faith in His Father and did what He had to do.

His only thought was you.

Verse 2:

In the garden He prayed Father take this way

please let it pass from Me.

He prayed as hard as He could till His sweat turned to blood and in His agony.

He could see His Father's promise as He looked ahead in time.

He could have thought of Himself and called out for help but

He said "Thy will, not Mine"

Chorus:

He could have come down from the cross,

summoned the angels from above.

He could have cried out "I've done no wrong"

instead He had faith in His Father and did what He had to do.

His only thought was you.

Chorus:

He could have come down from the cross,

His only thought was you.

His only thought was me.

His only thought was you.
